The reboot will unify the MCU into a singular timeline, allowing Marvel to recast legacy characters like Iron Man and Captain America. Feige compared the process to other iconic franchises: “They’re looking for a new James Bond. David Corenswet is the new Superman, and he’s been incredible. That’s always how it works”.

In July 2024, it was confirmed that Downey Jr would be returning to Marvel to play the villain Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.
