Chávez was detained in front of his home in Los Angeles and will be deported to Mexico, where he faces organized crime charges, authorities said.

Former champion boxer Julio César Chávez Jr., son of Mexican legend Julio César Chávez Sr., was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The Department of Homeland Security said Chavez Jr. is in the process of being deported from the U.S. over alleged cartel ties and other infractions.
