In an advisory, the NWS warned that portions of the three states are under flash flood warnings due to expected thunderstorms that will bring heavy rain.

National Weather Service radar detected a severe storm near Pinckney moving southeast at 30 miles per hour at 2:41 p.m.

A flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Denver at 1:23 p.m. on Thursday, July 24. This warning applies to Larimer County.

A flash flood warning has been issued for El Paso County, and residents are urged to move immediately to higher ground, according to the National Weather Service. The warning for El Paso County is in effect until 4 p.m. Monday, July 28. A separate warning for Otero County in New Mexico remains in effect until 5 p.m.

Since January, more than 3,100 flash flood warnings have been issued nationwide — the highest year-to-date total since tracking began for alerts in 1986.

Storm Center 7’s Ryan Marando said there is another chance for thunderstorms in the Miami Valley Sunday afternoon. Isolated strong storms are also possible. The main threat here will be heavy downpours and gusty winds. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s to 90, with a heat index close to 100.
