Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr – a legend in his own right – paid tribute to the life and death of Dennis Richmond, KTVU's legendary anchorman who died Tuesday at the age of 81.

Dennis Richmond, a beloved Bay Area newsman died Wednesday, KTVU reports. A rarity in the business, he stayed at one station for his entire career.

Legendary KTVU anchor Dennis Richmond has died. One of the first Black anchors in a major news market, Richmond joined the San Francisco-based Fox-affiliated station in 1968, and remained there until his retirement in 2008.
