Adam Idah recalled the early hurling career that stood him in good stead for the rigours of playing for Celtic after announcing a return to his native Cork with the Scottish champions. Idah and his team-mates will face his boyhood favourites Cork City in a friendly on July 8.

Adam Idah is relishing the chance to return to Cork this summer to play against the club he has supported from childhood. Celtic will head to Ireland in the summer to face Idah's boyhood favourites Cork City in a friendly. "I haven't played in Cork since I was 15 and didn't think I'd ever come back and play here," the striker said.

Adam Idah said he never thought he would play in Cork again, as he returned to Leeside to promote a huge sporting event in the city.

Adam Idah grew up wanting to hurl for Cork down the Páirc. Now, he will get to do the next best thing when he lines out for Celtic at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh. The Leeside venue will host the inaugural ‘Cork Super Cup’ when the Scottish champions face Cork City on July 8.
