Excellent museum. Allow yourself enough time to fully explore, you will be rewarded. Friendly staff; docent Linda was especially helpful and attentive. she's great!Full review by Mark G

There is a restaurant in the park, but you should really take the streetcar back down Canal to get the best food. Mandina's is on Canal, and the food was great. Italian. But why not just ride the streetcar all the way back down Canal to eat at the palace cafe or get off on Baronne and eat at Domenica.

I would think that any of the newer hotels with high customer satisfaction ratings would be 'safe'. If you're coming from a long ways away and dont want to stay in NOLA, you could always stay on the north shore of the Ponchartrain, nice towns there, but a little drive back into NOLA again to see the attractions. I've never had any trouble staying in New Orleans if you just observe normal common sense and awareness of your surroundings.
What is the parking situation like? Does it have a parking garage? Is it expensive?

There is parking near the bike and paddle boat area and throughout the park It's a beautiful Park all around I was just disappointed w I th the museum price
