Wallis Lake is located just 10 mins drive south of Forster on the NSW Central Coast. This spot offers amazing flat water sailing in a NE breeze, particularly at the northern end where the water is protected by surface weed. GPS speed events are often held at this spot and the runs are several kilometres long. In fact the lake works pretty well in most breezes apart from a easterly. The lake is mostly shallow so only has small chop out towards the centre of the lake. The water is nice an clean and due to a mostly sandy bottom it is a lovely blue colour when the sun is shining. A weed fin is handy to get onto the small weed banks, but shouldn't be required for the majority of the lake. If you are staying at the Holiday Park it is just 10 mins drive south to another ripper flat water spot at Smiths Lake. Access/Launching 1. Great Lakes Sailing Club The sailing club has deeper water from the shore so it is one of the best places to launch at for Wallis Lake.
