*Visits to the House of the Binns are by Guided Tour Only. National Trust for Scotland property set in beautifully landscaped parkland overlooking the River Forth. This fascinating laird’s house near Linlithgow has been the home of the Dalyells for over 400 years. Viewing the house is by guided tour only which is filled with rich storytelling and an impressive collection of family portraits, furniture and porcelain that reveals the lives and interests of the family through the centuries. The Estate is open from dawn until dusk and is free for scenic walks, please keep dogs on the lead as there is a wealth of nature which includes free roaming peafowl and sheep.

Excellent and knowledgeable tour by Richard. Really interesting house and family. Nice way to start the tour with a cup of coffee and a bit of shortbread.Full review by Mike M
Avoid the Rouken Glen garden centre cafe - unless you particularly like stale cake. The adjoining tearoom to the right of the garden centre is much better.
