One of those tour events where I don’t think the pass is of much value, especially this time of year when the lines are very short or none at all. Like yourself we had a skip the line pass connected to another tour we were on. Went up the elevator without waiting and spent about 1 1/2 hours at the observatory (more than enough time in my opinion). Rented the optional $15 iPad per person that helped to Id the buildings visible from the tower. The display was of poor quality and I probably wouldn’t rent it again. But it was our first visit there so it was worth it.
How long in advance must I book my tickets? Does it sell out? Thanks!

I booked a month in advance,for our trip but went today and it appears that if you book at least a week in advance you should be alright, The best time to go is in the morning before 1 pm
Can someone tell me how to get there by bus or train from Sheraton hotel Times Square? And what the fare is? Many thanks. Would prefer a bus if possible to see more.

You can also take one the sight seeing buses {hop on hop off}. It's an extra cost but you get to see alot of the city without walking and it goes there
