What interaction do you actually have with the elephants? I want to ride and feed and wash and just generally spend time close and among elephants but obviously don’t want to go to a horrible cruel place to do so! Every time I google these places they say they include these things but I can’t see it on here ! Help please !

Hi, riding elephants is not physically good for the animal and generally to make an elephant ",conform" they will be abused, they're a money making object, a business transaction and therefore generally treated very badly. Most of the elephants here have been rescued from these environments so no, you will not be able to ride them, and I would ask you to think very carefully before going somewhere that does allow this. The visit here is very interactive, probably the best way for you to see what goes on is to follow their FB page and take a look at the pictures they post twice daily to see exactly what you'll be doing. Do remember this is a sanctuary not a zoo and so the fee you pay will go directly to protecting these majestic giants. A visit is very interactive and very worthwhile
Can I get a taxi directly from the port to the sanctuary and pay admission or is it only organised tours that are admitted.

You could get a taxi from the pier but I’m not sure if you can just turn up, maybe give them a quick call or go on the website which may give you that info
